Sarah Whatmore made headlines back in 2001 when she appeared on Pop Idol and refused Simon Cowell’s marriage proposal on national television. Although Sarah did not make it to the final, she was offered a management and recording deal with Simon Fuller’s company, 19. Two singles were released, both reaching very respectable chart positions–”When I Lost You” (number 6) and “Automatic” (number 11). Then, unsure about the direction her career was going at that time, Sarah took the bold decision not to release her debut album choosing instead to concentrate on her writing. Time To Think is the long awaited first album from Sarah and includes singles “Smile” and “Redefined”.

Evolver is the third studio album by R&B/soul singer John Legend, released by GOOD Music and Columbia Records on October 28, 2008 in the United States and on October 20 in the United Kingdom. It features guest appearances by Kanye West, Brandy, Estelle and Andre 3000, among others.

The album debuted at number 4 on the U.S. Billboard 200 to sales of 132,823 copies. It also entered the UK Albums Chart at number 21, and reached number 26 on the national Japanese albums chart, as well as number 5 on the Japanese foreign chart.[3] It has debuted The album has received mixed reviews from music critics since its release.

“I think it’s hard to find a general theme [for the album]. It’s a lot of love and relationship songs, as people probably would expect from me. There’s not an overarching lyrical theme that goes throughout. It’s just a bunch of good songs, I think.”

A Hundred Million Suns is the fifth album by alternative rock band Snow Patrol. The album was released in Ireland on October 24, 2008, in the UK and the rest of Europe on October 27, 2008[2] [3], and in the US on October 28, 2008. The first single from the album was “Take Back the City” which was released on October 10 in Ireland, Germany and Belgium. The song has peaked at #32 on the US Hot Modern Rock Tracks. “Crack the Shutters” has made it to #9 on the iTunes Store Alternative Songs chart. The album debuted at #2 in the UK with sales of 100,330.

he album was recorded in Hansa Studio in Berlin and Grouse Lodge Studio in Co. Westmeath, Ireland through Summer 2008, with producer Garret “Jacknife” Lee.[4][5]

The album is considerable departure from Snow Patrol’s earlier productions. Frontman Gary Lightbody said he wanted to make a record cheerful as compared to their previous albums. Instead of describing a relationship’s end, the record was written in perspective of a relationship that is working. The band members took additional lessons before starting the recording. They have described the album as their best to date.

Leon Jackson (born 30 December 1988) is a Scottish singer and winner of the fourth series of the British television talent show The X Factor in 2007. His debut single, “When You Believe”, was released in December 2007, and was the UK Christmas number 1 single that year. Following a ten-month hiatus, his debut album Right Now was released in October 2008.

Right Now is the debut album by X Factor winner Leon Jackson. The album’s first official single “Don’t Call This Love” was leaked onto the internet in early September.

Jackson has spoken about his first single “Don’t Call This Love”, saying “The song is one I think people will really be able to relate to, it’s about someone who’s been hurt, they don’t want to be deceived anymore and they’re saying to their partner “don’t you dare call this love”, it’s a really charismatic song and really strong.”

Jackson described the album as “a mixture in styles of modern jazz with singer-songwriter elements, and a lot of it is really soulful.”

After Robin Thicke finished up his tour for the The Evolution of Robin Thicke album he immediately got into the studio to start recording the album. The album features production from Thicke himself along side The Neptunes, and Pro Jay. Thicke conducted a listening party in Los Angeles on April 14, 2008 where he described the album as “wine and bubbly” type music.

Down to Earth is the second album by Jem, the follow-up to her successful 2004 debut, Finally Woken. The first single, “It’s Amazing,” was featured on the soundtrack to the “Sex and the City” movie. In August, 2008, “Crazy” was released as a single on iTunes and other digital music outlets.

The press release states that Jem co-wrote the album with a variety of people including Jeff Bass, Lester Mendez and Greg Kurstin and sings in Japanese on the track, “Aciid!”. The album also includes a collaboration with South African singer-songwrite and poet-activist Vusi Mahlasela on the track “You Will Make It” recalling 9/11, and dealing with the suffering of loss.

The Quilt will be the fourth album by Gym Class Heroes released by Fueled By Ramen/Decaydance. The album will be released on September 9, 2008. Frontman Travis McCoy told MTV, “This is me reaching out right now, but we’re hoping to get Alex Turner from the Arctic Monkeys on the record, Daryl Hall on the record. And we’re looking forward to writing a couple of songs with Ne-Yo. We got to be good friends with him through the VMAs (MTV Video Music Awards).

The band has recorded some tracks with producers Cool & Dre as well as Busta Rhymes and Lil Wayne. They revealed that the song will make a good kind of surprise. “It’s just gonna be a real, real solid record. The demos we have now are just bananas,” McCoy added. “(Guitarist) Disashi is just a monster on the new stuff. You’re going to hear a lot more of him singing on this one and a lot more of his guitar skills that I don’t think he really got to flex on the last record.”

Girlicious‘ is an American pop girl group featuring Natalie Mejia, Nichole Cordova, Chrystina Sayers, and Tiffanie Anderson. The group was formed by Robin Antin from the reality TV show “Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious”. Before the premiere of the show, Girlicious had already started recording their debut album and working on music videos since the summer of 2007.
