A Hundred Million Suns is the fifth album by alternative rock band Snow Patrol. The album was released in Ireland on October 24, 2008, in the UK and the rest of Europe on October 27, 2008[2] [3], and in the US on October 28, 2008. The first single from the album was “Take Back the City” which was released on October 10 in Ireland, Germany and Belgium. The song has peaked at #32 on the US Hot Modern Rock Tracks. “Crack the Shutters” has made it to #9 on the iTunes Store Alternative Songs chart. The album debuted at #2 in the UK with sales of 100,330.
he album was recorded in Hansa Studio in Berlin and Grouse Lodge Studio in Co. Westmeath, Ireland through Summer 2008, with producer Garret “Jacknife” Lee.[4][5]
The album is considerable departure from Snow Patrol’s earlier productions. Frontman Gary Lightbody said he wanted to make a record cheerful as compared to their previous albums. Instead of describing a relationship’s end, the record was written in perspective of a relationship that is working. The band members took additional lessons before starting the recording. They have described the album as their best to date.

Forth is the upcoming fourth album by English alternative rock band The Verve and will be released internationally on August 25, 2008, and a day later in North America. The album is the band's first release since reforming in 2007 and touring at various festivals in 2008. It is also the band's first album of new material since Urban Hymns was released in 1997, excluding two unreleased tracks on the singles compilation album This Is Music: The Singles 92-98.
The album's first single, "Love Is Noise", received its first airplay by Zane Lowe on BBC Radio 1 on June 23, 2008. The band also released a non-album track, "Mover", as a free digital download a week later.
The band recorded 12 new songs in Richmond, a town in southwest London, but after mixing the album decided to keep the track listing at 10 songs. The new songs feature Richard Ashcroft's structured balladry found on Urban Hymns with freeform sonic storms inspired by Nick McCabe's guitar. Jonathan Cohen of Billboard states that Forth is "[A] bracing blend of the experimentalism of the group's early work and the more structured songwriting of its last two efforts."[3]
"Sit and Wonder" and "Love Is Noise" have been played live during the band's festival appearances. "Sit and Wonder" is a much tougher proposition than the fledgling effort the group performed last year, while "Love Is Noise" stunned festival-goers at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in April 2008 with its high-energy dance vibe. "Rather Be" is a piano-led track about redemption brought to life by ambient guitars, and Ashcroft's croon on the mellow "Valium Skies" provides a lighter-in-the-air moment.
However, the album also regenerates their pre-1995 space-rock jams like 1992's "Gravity Grave." "Noise Epic" is an ever-growing wall of static, held together by a "Day Tripper"-esque bass riff. "Numbness," meanwhile, sees the band melding trademark raw emotions with a spiralling, bluesy jam.
